Puna District PDF Print E-mail

Realty in the Puna District of Hawai`i Island is my specialty and subdivisions here are unique in their attributes and characteristics. Despite expansive growth in recent years, the area maintains its rural lifestyle and many of the lots are zoned Agricultural.

Infrastructure that you might be used to in cities and other subdivisions on the mainland is not always available in those of the Puna District. Water is mostly available via rain catchment, except in a few subdivisions.  Sewers do not exist except for some areas in Hilo; septic tanks and cesspools are used instead. Paved roads and availability of electricity varies by subdivision. Special Subdivision Power Program (SSPP), with a set fee to activate electricity, applies in many of the subdivisions.
